How do I register?

To begin the REGISTRATION process, click here. Your successful enrollment into a specific class day/time will be confirmed in the new year via email.

How much is tuition?

For children's dance: $300 per semester; Summer session and camps TBA
For adults' dance: $150 per 8 weeks

For children's yoga*: $100 per 8-week session introductory rate
For adults' yoga*: $15 per drop-in class; $100 per 8-class card

*10% of proceeds from yoga classes donated to Chinmaya Mission, School of Vedantic Studies.

How can I pay?

Payment can be made by cash, check payable to Soham Dance Space, or PayPal to info@sohamdancespace.org

How long is the session?

For children, the program runs year-round (with no classes held on major holiday weekends, winter break, and summer break).  Children are expected to participate in the full year.  Adult sessions are 8 weeks being the minimum commitment. However, most adult classes are progressive and can still culminate in the annual recital and other events.

What classes are offered at each location?

All classes are offered in Chicago. Only children's bharatanatyam classes are offered in Willowbrook and Palos Park.

When are your classes?

See above for new classes opening in 2012. To see if you can join another class offered during the week, please email info@sohamdancespace.org

Do you have drop-in classes?

Because the bharatanatyam curriculum is progressive, students are asked to attend a minimum of 8 weeks. Classes build on previous lessons. Only adult yoga classes are open to drop-in attendees.

What style of yoga do you teach?

Soham Dance Space teaches classical yoga. Modern style names have immerged only in recent history and simply describe an approach to developing a yoga practice. Our classes incorporate an understanding of the purpose behind all approaches to asana (i.e. Iyengar - alignment; Ashtanga/Vinyasa - sequencing and flow, etc) while keeping our focus on the scriptural source from which yoga is prescribed (Pathanjali's Yoga Sutras and the preceding Bhagavad Geeta and Upanishads. etc).

Is there parking?

Free street parking is available near the Chicago location on Damen, Walton, and Iowa. Metered street parking is also accessible on Augusta and Chicago Ave. Parking lots are available in Palos Park and Willowbrook.
